UNS S32205 is a widely used duplex stainless steel pipe grade, known for its high strength (almost twice that of common austenitic grades) and superior corrosion resistance, especially to stress corrosion cracking. These pipes are typically manufactured to ASTM A790/ASME SA790 specifications for pipes and ASTM A789/ASME SA789 for tubes.

Duplex S32205 comprises the chemical content chromium, molybdenum, and nickel. Due to higher chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen contents,Duplex 2205 extensively use in those applications where good corrosionresistance and higher strength are required. Duplex S32205 contains ahigher nitrogen compound, making it better corrosion resistance, pittingresistance, and crevice corrosion resistance compared to other stainlesssteel grades in maximum environments like acidic solutions, saltwater, purewater, etc.
