SS 904 ERW Pipe, SS UNS N08904 Hollow Pipe, SS WNR 1.4539 Round Pipe, ASTM A312 TP904 Welded Pipe, 904 Stainless Steel Welded Pipe Supplier in India.
Stainless Steel 904 Pipe is a non-stabilized low carbon high alloy austenitic stainless steel that is widely recognized for its superior corrosion resistance. The addition of copper in its chemical formulation gives the SS ERW Pipe 904 significantly improved resistance to strong reducing acids, especially sulphuric acid. This makes 904 pipes extremely useful in chemical processing, pulp and paper manufacturing, heat exchangers, and seawater applications.
The 304 and 316 grades are common, but when environments are highly corrosive, 904 is the premium solution. The 904 Stainless Steel ERW Pipe is produced using Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) from high-alloy strips, offering excellent physical properties, mechanical strength, and exact dimensions. Our 904 ERW pipes comply strictly with international standards of quality.
The ASTM A312 TP904 Pipe has a minimum yield strength of 220 MPa and a minimum tensile strength of 490 MPa. It features low carbon content which minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, preventing intergranular corrosion. The SS UNS N08904 Pipe can be supplied in round, square, and rectangular shapes to meet custom engineering and industrial piping system specifications.

SS ERW Pipe 904 is an Electric Resistance Welded pipe manufactured from 904 grade high-alloy austenitic stainless steel. It is non-stabilized with low carbon content, offering outstanding corrosion resistance in highly aggressive environments.
SS 904 contains high amounts of chromium (19-23%), nickel (23-28%), and molybdenum (4-5%), along with copper (1-2%). The copper addition provides exceptional resistance to strong reducing acids such as sulphuric acid.
SS 904 has the UNS designation N08904 and Werkstoff Nr. designation 1.4539 (DIN/EN equivalent equivalent to X1NiCrMoCu25-20-5).
While SS 316 is suitable for general marine and chloride environments, SS 904 contains much higher nickel and molybdenum content, plus copper. This makes 904 considerably more resistant to pitting, crevice corrosion, and strong acids compared to 316.
