They are stabilized with titanium, which prevents carbide precipitation, making them suitable for applications up to 900°C. The primary difference is carbon content: 321 has a maximum of 0.08%, while 321H has a higher carbon range of 0.04% to 0.10%. They are used in demanding applications like aerospace, chemical processing, and heat exchangers.
Stainless Steel 321H pipe is a stabilized austenitic stainless steel designed for high-temperature use (427-816°C / 800-1500°F). It has higher carbon content. It resists carbide precipitation, remains non-magnetic in the annealed condition, and can be hardened by cold working.
